Expats can vote!

We are expatriates not ex-patriots.  If you are an American citizen residing abroad you can vote in the coming November election.

As a democrat, and if you are an Am-Expat statistics say you probably are, it is especially important that you give the democrats the push they need this year. If you are reading my blog, chances are also pretty high that you are a “hipster”, like the guy on the right in the video, which also makes it pretty likely that you lean to the left. Yeah lefties!

This year, I am again voting for my party and not for the candidate because honestly I am a little disappointed in some of the things Obama hasn’t done. Like putting a cap on campaign spending – did you see that the republicans are spending billions?

That said he has done a lot of good things and I would like to think that someday America with be in line with the rest of the world on health care.  Don’t get me wrong I do like Obama, but I was really rooting for Hilary at the last election, so I am still working through the disappointment of him taking her place on the ballot.

I can’t imagine living in the “dog eat dog world” the republicans are fighting for. So, that said, this video will tell you what you need to do to get registered. Hurry up! Not much time left if we want to save America for democracy.

As much as I would love for you to vote democrat, I would also love for you to make informed decisions based on facts and not fear. Inform yourself about the policies that affect you whether you live in the US or are checking out the rest of the world.

Americans Citizens Abroad work really hard for those of us that don’t live in the US anymore so add yourself to their informative newsletter.

Democrats Abroad are also working hard to keep America a place you might want to move back to someday. They have a great network in Europe and no less than nine groups in Germany, they even have one in Norway, so they are pretty much everywhere Americans abroad are.
